The Reality
Manual pricing takes time you can't bill for.
Not a little time. On a 300-item claim, a full working week on something you are paid a flat fee to handle.
300 items at 7 minutes a lookup.
The engine runs it. You review the handful it flags.
Illustrative, on a mid-size contents claim. How much comes back to you depends on the claim: items with a brand, model and age match far more confidently than a line that just says “sofa”.
The manual way
- 15 browser tabs open. Google, retailer sites, price comparison blogs.
- Copy-pasting prices into Excel. No source URL. No audit trail.
- Carrier kicks back your claim: "Price not substantiated."
- At ~7 min an item, a 300-item claim eats your entire work week.
- Fee schedule pressure. You can't bill for pricing research time.
The PricePress way
- Upload your item list. Hit "Auto Price". Walk away.
- Every priced item carries its retail source URL into the PDF and the exports.
- Each price is sourced and timestamped, so your file shows where every figure came from.
- No cap on claim size. Big claims price in the background while you get on with something else.
- More time on the work that actually needs you.
Close the tab. It keeps going.
Workflow
Four steps. That's the whole process.
Start to finish, this is everything you do. The engine handles the rest.
Enter your line items
Import your existing contents list from a spreadsheet, use a pre-built template, or type them in manually. Organise by room, and add brand, model number, age and condition.
Run the pricing engine
The engine queries live retail sources to find current pricing for each item. Large batches run in the background, so a big claim does not hold you up. Queue it and go.
Review what matters
The engine tells you which prices are strong matches and which need a second look. Your attention goes to the handful that need it, not the two hundred that do not.
203 priced and sourced, 11 for your call.
Export carrier-ready
A branded PDF with line-item RCV, depreciation schedules, source URLs and a photo annex. Plus CSV, XLSX and an estimator-compatible export. Ready for carrier submission.
AI Claim Review
Price it. Review it. Submit it.
Once your claim is priced, run an AI review in one click. Catches mismatches, unusual vendors, and outlier prices before you submit.
Posters x40
HIGH TOTALUnit price $79.24 via art listing. Generic poster should be $5-15 each.
Assorted food from shelf x9
BAD VENDORPriced via premium gift retailer — not an appropriate LKQ source.
1 Mil Plastic Drop Cloth
MISMATCHReturned product is a 12 mil heavy duty poly tarp — different product.
Rule-based checks
Instant flags for prescription meds, marketplace markups, and vague descriptions before the AI even runs.
AI mismatch detection
Compares what was priced against what the retailer actually returned. Catches wrong products and implausible prices.
One-click report
Accuracy breakdown, exposure estimate, flagged items. Copies to clipboard as plain text. Paste it into an email.
AI review is advisory. Flags require adjuster review — results may be incomplete or incorrect.
Where Your Time Goes
You review the 5%. We handle the 95%.
The engine prices the bulk of the claim and tells you which handful of items it is not confident about. Your judgement goes where it is actually worth something, instead of being spent on the two hundred items nobody was ever going to argue about.
How much needs your attention depends on the claim. Items with a brand, model and age match far more confidently than a line that just says “sofa”, so the better your list, the less of it comes back to you.
Where We Pull Prices
Connected to the retailers your policyholders actually shop at.
The engine categorises each item, then routes it to the source that actually sells it. Every price comes back with a verifiable link.

- 65" Class OLED Smart TV
- Brand
- LG
- RCV

Retailer names are redacted here. In your claim the real source URL is on the line item, the PDF and the exports.
Built for Adjusters
Features that survive the desk review.
These are the three questions a carrier actually comes back with, and what your file already says when they do.
“Where did you get this number?”
Claims reviewer
Carrier-ready audit trails
Every automated price carries the exact retail source URL, the vendor name and the timestamp it was retrieved. The answer is already on the PDF and in your exports before anyone asks.

Hyper-localised pricing
For groceries and consumables the engine uses the policyholder's ZIP code to pull store-specific pricing, so the figure reflects what they would have paid near the loss, not a national average that matches nowhere.

Platform
Built for the reality of field adjusting.
The engine takes the work that does not need judgement. Everything that does stays with you.
The engine handles
No input from you
Market-value consensus
Not a stale database. The engine queries live retail listings, scores each result for match strength, and tells you which items need your eye.
Depreciation and ACV
Log age and condition. It applies the depreciation schedule and produces Net ACV alongside RCV, ready for the carrier's holdback.
Instant on repeat items
Common items are matched against prices already found and verified, so they come back immediately instead of being looked up again.

Start freeWhy we built this.
We watched adjusters spend decades manually searching retail prices. Air Fryers, TVs, couches, flooring. Seven minutes per item, hundreds of items per claim, claim after claim after claim.
The carriers demand verifiable sources. The fee schedules don't pay for research time. And every hour you spend searching is an hour you're not inspecting the next property.
PricePress exists because adjusters deserve to spend their time adjusting, not copying prices from browser tabs into spreadsheets.
- The PricePress Team
01Where do the prices actually come from?
Live retail sources. The engine routes each item to the right one by category, then falls back to a broad retail search for anything unusual. Every priced item keeps the source URL, the vendor and the timestamp it was retrieved, and those carry through to the PDF and the spreadsheet exports.
02How accurate is it?
Accuracy tracks the detail in your list. An item with a brand, model and age matches far more confidently than a line that just says “sofa”. The engine scores its own confidence per item and flags the ones it is unsure about, so you are told where to look rather than left to guess.
03What if a price is wrong?
Change it. Nothing is locked. You can override any price, edit the description, change the condition or the age, and re-run pricing on a single item or the whole room. The engine proposes, you decide, and what you send is what you approved.
04How big a claim can it handle?
Thousands of line items. Large batches run in the background rather than making you sit and wait, and big reports are generated the same way, so a whale claim does not tie up your afternoon. The largest we have run end to end was just over 2,600 items.
05Does everything work on my phone?
Yes, and this is the part people do not expect. It is the same application, not a cut-down mobile view: add items, price them, attach photos, all from the loss site. Anything you enter on your phone is on the desktop by the time you open it.
06What can I export?
A branded PDF report carrying your firm’s name and logo, with the valuation schedule, depreciation, a photo annex and a certification page. Plus CSV and XLSX, and an estimator-compatible export for whatever your carrier wants it in.
07What happens to my claims if I cancel?
They stay. Your claims, line items, photos and exports are all still there, and they are still there when you come back next season. Cancelling stops the billing, it does not empty your account.
